Bar patron Señora Leo doesn't mess around, which is why she took this old portside joint that served up fried fare and mini bottles of beer and transformed it into a shrine to the great Sevillian dancer and singer, Miguel Vargas Jiménez (a.k.a. 'Bambino'). The bar itself is incredible, its walls lined with clippings and photos of Bambino. The clientele ranges from the grey-whiskered granddad sucking on a toothpick to the crusty post-teen local skiving off to smoke some herbs. The soundtrack? All flamenco, all the time, at an ear-shattering volume: 100% Barceloneta.

I wasn't amazed by the food, but on the weekends, and especially around 4 or 5 pm on Saturdays (when there's usually a live guitarist and everyone's dancing or spilling out onto the street), it has to be one of the best bars in Barcelona by a very long way. There's an incredibly mixed group of people that turn up, young and old, and from all over Spain. It's easy to make new friends and have a great time.
