From March 24 to April 4, Barcelona is the world piano capital with the 65th edition of the Maria Canals International Music Competition. As an event in tandem with the prestigious competition and to open the event to the people around the city, the festival fills certain areas of Barcelona with pianos. Here's where and when you'll find them, so you can watch others playing or have a go yourself:

Tue 19, 10am-8pm, Plaça Virrei Amat.

Wed 20, 10am-8pm, Plaça Fort Pienc.

Thu 21, 8am-7pm, Catalunya Ràdio (Av. Diagonal, 614-616), and 10am-8pm, Plaça d'Orfila.

Fri 22, 11am-8pm, Plaça Reial (piano-playing marathon), and until Apr 4 you'll find a grand piano in the transfer area of the Diagonal Metro.

Sat 23, be on the lookout for the ten pianos along Passeig de Gràcia.

Sun 24, 10am-8pm, El Born Cultural Centre.

Mon 25, 11am-8pm, La Pedrera.

Tue 26, 11am-8pm, Palau Robert. And until Apr 2, from 9am to 10pm, you can also play at the Ateneu Barcelonès.

Wed 27, 11am-8pm, Plaça de Catalunya, in front of FNAC.

Thu 29, 10.30am-8pm, Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Fri 29 and Sat 30, 9.30am-9pm, L'Illa Diagonal.

Sat 30, 10am-8pm, Hotel Catalonia, Portal de l'Àngel.

Sun 31, 11am-8pm, in front of the restaurant 7 Portes.

Sat 6 and Sun 7, 11am-8pm, at the All Those Food Market at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya.
