The Fall and Mark E Smith

Nowadays Mark E Smith seems to get as much attention for his surreal internet presence – Tumblr blogs of babies that look like him, YouTube vids of his stumbling football commentary – as for his music. Younger folk may not even be aware that he led one of the most avant-garde British bands of the 80s. Yet The Fall play on, pulling their fanbase with them into the 21st century on the back of endless albums. In May they'll release their  31st, 'Sub-Lingual Tablet'; come celebrate with them at The Institute.
