By the time you’ve climbed those flights of stairs to the hyper-hued, tennis-themed, AstroTurfed bar at the summit of the Fox Hotel you’ll no doubt be rather parched. Thirst-quenching salvation comes in the form of cocktails, with a huge list of wacky offerings such as the Napoleon Dynamite (vodka, Mandarine Napoleon, citrus and sparkling – 'it'll get you all the online babes' according to the menu), the Pimms Cup and the Just for the Krak (Kraken, chocolate bitters, coffee beans and apple).
There’s a concise menu of charcoal-grilled skewers, four varieties of pizza, and moreish bar snacks like fried crumbed olives stuffed with feta, and spicy smoked pork and goat’s cheese croquettes. Dandy’s is still one of the best places in town for chilled sunset drinks (and the most colourful – it looks like a rainbow exploded up there), open from Friday to Sunday.
