Time Out says

Bowl a strike and cut some shapes at this gig with a twist

Strike bowling is once again hosting a rowdy party this May where you can experience booze, bowling and an intimate music performance all in one night. Live on the Lanes is a gig with a difference hosted by the bowling brand that likes to do things differently.

Strike is always finding new ways to bring people together, including by recruiting Australia’s hottest artists to turn the bowling alley into a bustling pop-up music venue, with artists jamming out atop a custom built stage over the mood-lit bowling lanes.

Past editions of Live on the Lanes have attracted some of Australia’s very best musical talent, including party-starting duo Confidence Man and electro rockers Northeast Party House. Last year multi-instrumentalist producer Touch Sensitive took to the decks, delighting ears and making feet twitch at three shows across the country.

This year, Live on the Lanes returns with a three night tour in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. The musical guest of honour in 2023 will be none other than much-adored songwriter, producer, vocalist and world-class storyteller Running Touch. He’ll be dropping beats at Strike QV in Melbourne on Wednesday, May 3, Strike Wintergarden in Brisbane on Thursday, May 4 and Strike Darling Harbour in Sydney on Wednesday, May 10.

Running Touch is a visionary Melbourne musician and a mainstay of the Aussie festival scene, and now he’s bringing his atmospheric, genre-morphing tunes to the lanes of Strike. You can expect to hear Running Touch’s expansive tunes like ‘Make Your Move’ and ‘When I’m Around You’, with an icy cold complimentary beverage from Byron Bay Brewery in hand.

It’s safe to say that the guestlist for this one-night only party is pretty darn exclusive. In fact, you can’t even buy a ticket! Each event will have an invite only guest list of just 250 lucky fans. Strike is kindly giving away 75 double passes to each event, so you’ll be able to bring along a dance partner. The only way to get in on the good times is by heading to the Strike website and entering their competition for your chance to win.

Live on the Lanes is presented by Strike, in partnership with Byron Bay Brewery and Time Out.
