Let your freak flag fly at this music-heavy festival held in the delightful surrounds of Woodfordia
Woodford Folk Festival is 31-year-old family-friendly festival where you can really let your freak flag fly, even if you don’t live a herbal lifestyle full-time. There’s comedy, workshops, circus, cabaret, electronica, and Indigenous arts programs – and that's before we get to the music. It’s an inclusive, environmentally-friendly good time.
The festival village streets are lined with food stalls, markets, restaurants, cafés, bars, street theatre and parades. Campgrounds are found within Woodfordia's beautiful parklands, which boasts butterfly walks, ponds and wildlife.
The line-up requires military-grade planning, given there are 2000 performers at 35 venues and stages each year. Past headliners have included Michael Franti, Gotye, Hermitude, Archie Roach, the Cat Empire, John Butler Trio and Julia Stone. The festival also stretches out your New Year celebrations a little longer by having their famous fire ceremony on New Year’s Night where a lantern parade culminates in a giant bonfire in the amphitheater.
It's here you'll be able to inspire and be inspired. Escape reality for a little while and immerse yourself in Woodford's open-armed way of life.
