While the wood-grill named 'Infierno' chars, sizzles and sears Queensland-reared sirloin, scotch fillet and T-bones, Blackbird's bars are fine places to party
Executive chef Jake Nicolson brings big kitchen cred to Blackbird after stints at El Bulli, the Ledbury and Circa the Prince in Melbourne. After eating your fill from the meat and seafood menu, party into the night at Blackbird's riverside bars: the SpeakEasy, and the opulent Gatsby, where Champagne and cocktails take centre stage.
Blackbird is housed at the site formerly owned by the Queensland Rugby Club and utilises the massive 1000 square metre space by dividing it into both a sophisticated and funky bar and restaurant space. While the venue maintains some of the Ghanem flavour the boys’ previous ventures are known for, there are also some incredible new additions.
While the restaurant has a clear flare for luxuriant steaks and fine dining, the bar flaunts the Ghanem reputation for first-class cocktails. Featuring an extensive cocktail list, paired with a grazing menu which will be available until late, Blackbird burst onto the scene as a hospitality crosspoint for fine dining and after dark drinks.
Whether it be for dinner, drinks or a dance, we hope to see you on the river soon.
