One of the best bakeries in Brisbane has been renovated for your golden, flaky pleasure

Flour and Chocolate are masters of bread and patisserie. You'll be hard pressed to find a better baguette, and their selection of patisserie items is something to behold including daily specials such as Monday's sticky cinnabuns, Tuesday's cream-loaded bee stings and Wednesday's sweetly sugared and filled donuts. The cabinet boasts brownies, blondies and pretty little bar cakes swathed in icing, while shelves are stacked with everything imaginable to complement bread – housemade jams, mustards, pickles, sauces, spreads and chutneys. In the fridge you'll find a bread-friendly cheese selection and a lovely range of King Valley Dairy cultured butters.

In late 2022 the Morningside shop reopened after an impressive renovation with double the shop space. The innovation was sorely needed: queues to even get into the old premises were very long on Saturdays, and now there's more space inside to browse the racks of perfectly baked products. The café section (formerly relegated to a separate space nearer Wynnum road) is now in the main shop, and the seating area has been upgraded too. And OMG, the former sandwich bar section is now a gelato bar. There are now Flour and Chocolates in Northgate and Redcliffe as well – lucky, lucky us.
