This Kangaroo Point cafe and restaurant ranks as one of the most lovely riverside eateries in Brisbane. Tiered, wooden verandas edged with pretty flower boxes overlook the river and New Farm beyond, treating diners to views of bobbing boats, greenery and enough sunshine to cure a vitamin D deficiency in a day.
‘Global cuisine’ is the concept here, with an offering that restlessly hops borders and continents – Moroccan lamb and chickpea tagine, seafood laksa, Jamaican jerk chicken skewers and even loco moco coexist peacefully on the lunch menu, while for dinner you can order a peach caprese as easily as a prawn ceviche. The drinks list is an approachable mix of mostly Australian wines with a Chianti there and a Beaujolais there – many are available by the glass for less than a tenner.
