Time Out says

The PGA golfing championship will tee off on the Gold Coast at the end of November and competitors will vie to win the oldest trophy in Australian professional golf, the Kirkwood Cup. There’s also a healthy $1.5 million up for grabs.

The comp draws in the big guns, with past champs including Adam Scott, Robert Allenby and the Great White Shark himself, Greg Norman. The 72-hole stroke play event will wind its way around the re-designed Graham Marsh championship course at the RACV Royal Pines Resort, which sits behind the spectacular Surfers Paradise skyline. The course has tight fairways and undulating greens to keep players on their toes.

In the tournament village, there’ll be gourmet food trucks to keep the munchies at bay, as well as a licensed bar. The day’s play is beamed onto three electronic super screens around the venue to ensure you stay current on the progress during food and bevvie runs. Enjoy a live broadcast from the public grandstand behind the 10th tee.

Book accommodation at the RACV resort to be close to the action, or bunk down in one of the Gold Coast’s many hotels, including the swish Palazzo Versace, towering Q1, or chic QT Gold Coast.
