Ingmar Bergman's classic mini-series has been adapted into theatre form by Joanna Murray-Smith (Switzerland, Honour).
The play is getting some seriously good reviews, and the fact that the on-stage couple are played by spouses-IRL, Marta Dusseldorp (Janet King, A Place to Call Home) and Ben Winspear (The Babadook) only makes it juicier.
Described as a "savagely comic battle", this play focuses on the martial implosion of a seemingly perfect couple, Johan and Marianne, after he admits to an act of infidelity.
The play runs until Dec 3 at Playhouse, QPAC and tickets start at $55.
