Ahoy! Boat Building For Kids says
Become a boat builder for a day with our winter holiday workshop exploring the boats of the Brisbane River.

Before the Brisbane’s first cross-river bridge opened in 1865, the only way to connect the banks of the river was by man powered row boats for ferries. Once an integral part of connecting a growing town, travelling on the river is still one of the best ways to see the true beauty of Brisbane.

Visit our award winning exhibition, The River: A history of Brisbane, to learn more about the people and ferries that helped build the Brisbane we love today, then get creative at this school holiday workshop and make your own paddle pop stick boat then take it home to see if it floats!

The workshop runs every day from Monday 4 July until Friday 8 July and there is no need to book, just drop in on the day.

***This workshop is recommended for children aged 3 and up***
