The Triffid has just turned two and is already one of Australia’s most loved live music venues for punters and artists alike.

For our first year the Triffid garden was home for the much-loved Triffid Roots we worked alongside Sarah Howells to ensure that our Sunday session was second to none.

The summer of 2016/2017 will see The Triffid re-invent our Sunday sessions.

Based on a passion for spirited acoustic music we have partnered with the Americana Association of Australia for present AMERICANA SESSIONS FREE EVERY SUNDAY IN THE TRIFFID GARDEN.

Every Sunday lovers of Folk, Country, Rhythm & Blues, Blues and Rock and Roll will be presented with some of the most respected artists around. This will all be happening in relaxed surrounds of the Triffid garden with a brand new menu for the foodies and plenty of other musical and beverage surprises.

Matt Henry

After first picking up the guitar at 15 years of age Matt Henry finally found the courage to start performing live at 35 and hasn’t looked back since. Five years later Henry has toured with the likes of Kasey Chambers, released a successful EP and is now setting the scene to drop Love Without Co-Dependency, an album that’s been 20 years in the making.

“The Best That They Could Do” is the first release from the forthcoming album and was written whilst reflecting on a relationship that had initially ended with a question mark. “This song for me was about erasing that question mark and replacing it with a full stop” said Henry. It is, in essence a country song but expresses strong blues influences and showcases the amazing backing vocals of Jen Mize.
