Queensland Bellydance Academy is delighted to present for the first time in Brisbane: Azerbaijani Dance with Sevinc!

Sevinc will be teaching a workshop on Azerbaijani technique on Saturday the 7th January 2017 at the Dance works Woolloongabba.

Time 9.30am -12.00pm
Open level.
Cost is $65.00

The workshop will include basic, hands, arms footwork as well as combinations.

Sevinc was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Azerbaijan in 2008 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Azerbaijan in 2010 for her services to the Arts; in particular for her service as a National Folk Dancer of Azerbaijan.

Sevinc has represented Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani Folk Dancing for over 27 years on the International Stage. She has traveled the world extensively and performed in many parts of the world: Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, America and Australia.

Sevinc is also classically trained. Having studied Ballet at University in both Moscow and Baku (1982-1990), went on to specialize in Folk Dancing and Choreography (1991-1994) and finally qualified as a Specialist Producer Choreographer (2002-2005).

Sevinc has performed as “Jangi” (Soloist) for: the Baku State Ensemble, the State Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan named by F.Amirov, the State Song and Dance Ensemble of Azerbaijan and the Dance ensemble “Chinar” of the Azerbaijan State Medical University.

Sevinc has also worked as a Choreographer for major events, most recently the European games in Baku, and has been giving private lessons in Baku for many years.

Sevinc is passionate about dance and culture. Now living in Australia, Sevinc is excited to share her love and knowledge of dance with the Australian community.
