Sea Shepherd Marine Debris Campaign says
All welcome. Please join us for this event which is not only a Marine Debris Campaign cleanup, but we have collaborated with Plastic Free July to make this also an official Plastic Free July event. Bring down the family and enjoy the afternoon while also playing your part in making a difference to our beauitful Oceans.

Popular jetty's and parks become hotspots for litter and single use plastic items. These are the areas the Sea Shepherd Marine Debris Team want to target before this plastic enters our oceans and becomes dangerous to marine life. This particular area has heavy public traffic during the weekend with markets and cafes nearby. Strong winds can blow this litter for kilometres and one plastic bottle when in our ocean can break down into enough small pieces to put one piece on every mile of our oceans on this planet. Scary thought!!

Whales migrate along our coast with their calves, how lucky are we to have these magnificent animals as our neighbours!
Lets make sure they swim in clean oceans and join the
Sea Shepherd Team to keep our seas free of debris.

Please be aware that the Queensland sun can still be damaging even on a cloudy winter day so SLIP, SLOP AND SLAP.
Wear enclosed shoes, as we will be cleaning a jetty which could have fishing hooks and other sharp objects.
Bring water and strong reusable gloves

No single use plastic at this event.
Reusable clean up up bags will be provided on the day.

Look forward to seeing you all there. For the oceans!
