What Is This “Common People” Thing Anyway? Isn’t That A Pulp Song? And Why Is Prince On The Poster?

Born from the ashes of legendary 00’s indie rock club The Depot, Common People haunted Rosie’s Upstairs from 2007 – 2009 in that weird period when people thought the Valley had lost its edge and the City was going to “happen” again.

It introduced a new, impressionable generation of club kids to the pleasures of dancing haphazardly to music from artists like LCD Soundsystem, Dizzee Rascaland Blondie, to Missy Elliott, Arcade Fire and The Jam. (And yes, Prince and Pulp, and pretty much everything else besides…)

It was beautifully messy, it was all-caps FUN, and it stuck around just long enough to be missed and not long enough to be boring.

Whether you were there the first time, are CP-curious, or just because your friends are ditching you for Falls, everyone is welcome as Common People glitters up The Foundry, the Valley’s best venue for alt-and-indie kids.
