The Bearded Lady, West End

After delighting listeners with their standout single 'Love Me' earlier this year, NSW North Coast-based band Dominiques are coming to Brisbane to launch their self-titled EP – Recorded and produced by Paul Pilsneniks and Torsten Gustavsson.

DOMINIQUES started as an ironic update of trashy 1960s pop. However, their instincts, attitude, and style found them moving forward to the sharp genre of new wave rock. Often being referred to the likes of Blondie, Nick Cave, and The Cure, Dominiques have attracted stellar references from Triple J claiming the five-piece “oozes 80’s pop rock nostalgia…fuzz driven guitar and bass licks… amazing vocal melodies and playful squeals.”

Originally formed in the summer of 2014 as a 3 piece, Concrete Surfers line up consists of Jovi Brook with his punch in the face guitar and vocals, Sean Foster melting faces with his lead guitar, Trent Courtenay using his bass as the glue holding it all together and Jamie Brook bashing snares and crashing cymbals on drums. Concrete Surfers have developed a following in the live Brisbane scene with their original ‘Garage Skate-Rock’ style earning them support spots with bands like Drunk Mums, Guantanamo Baywatch (USA) and Flangipanis.
