British Council Australia says
Fancy a night of surprises, laughs, drama, genius, competition and amazing feats of science?

The Queensland FameLab semi-final is coming to the Queensland Museum & Sciencentre on Wednesday 9 March 2016 as part of the World Science Festival Brisbane!

Watch as some of Australia’s top early-career scientists entertain you on stage with their tales of science as they battle it out to become the state’s FameLab champion.

Armed only with their wits and a few props, our 12 semi-finalists will have just three short minutes to present their research in the most exciting, innovative way possible to an esteemed panel of media professionals and public figures.

Have you ever wondered why some people are allergic to shellfish, or how atomic clocks work? Join us at this FREE event to hear complex concepts like these explained in an unpredictable and enlightening way!

The Queensland winner will be announced on the night and will then go on to compete in the FameLab national final in Western Australia in May. The winner of the national final will then go on to represent Australia at the international Famelab final at the Cheltenham Science Festival, UK in June!

As an audience member, you will also be involved during the show, with the power to judge the Audience Choice Award!

Tickets are completely FREE but must be pre-booked using the link above.
