Double Happiness
That spooky-surf, indie-pop western sound...

The Double Happiness is two couples from Bris Vegas. Formed after some impromptu dancing at an Ups and Downs show at the Spiegeltent in 2015 the band have created a niche for those in love with both Twin Peaks and 1960’s TV sitcoms. Featuring members from a series of quirky named 1990s/2000s indie bands such as The Ripz, Splat Acrobat, The Crimson Cardigans, Box Canyon, Boo Tree, The Fugitive Microbes, Jiffy Squid, The Slacks and Vinyl, The Double Happiness is a labour of love.

Drawing on influences and favourites including Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood, Stereolab, The Go Betweens and Sonic Youth to name a few, their original set is a blend of City and Country, Surf and Sand, Brisbane and Bewitched. Totally Reverb-a-riff-ic!

Recent performances include a sold-out show at The Junk Bar's Skukum Lounge (February 12) and supporting Splat Acrobat, Scraps, The Stress of Leisure and Some Jerks at The Gap Twilight Music Festival late last year. Upcoming shows include The Junk Bar on March 11, The Zoo on March 24 and The Powerhouse on April 16.

The Double Happiness was twenty years in the making…just don’t wait that long to see them.

Vesper Green
Coupling an audacious stage attitude with a high energy sound, Vesper Green is 'the' show to be at. Bringing their own unique brand of Hard Rock to the Zoo, the dual guitar and vocal attack of Nick Ashby and Chris Fleming will stimulate your senses faster than a pack of 5 gum. Backed by the in-the-pocket rhythm section of Huw Murday (Bass) and Collin Buursen (Drums), the group's sound is tight and funky as much as it is aggressive and dark. New sounds mix with old influences making for unique music not replicate by any other band.

Unpredictable and spontaneous, Vesper Green plays a Rock and Roll show how it should be played, with excitement and intensity.

Alastyn are a tenacious, hard-hitting rock'n'roll band that stay true to tradition while giving you originality and finesse. Travis Gray and Chris Fleming offer you the harmonious guitar package that is powerful and organic. Gene Rogerson on bass, and Jarrod Gray on drums are the thunderous rhythm section. These two are tighter than Lars Ulrich’s skinny jeans on a hot day.

With their debut EP on the way, armed with a plethora of eccentric, hard hitting material, catching Alastyn live won’t be one to miss.
