Join Samantha Littley, curator of 'Philanthropists and Collections', in a discussion with Dr Georgina Walker, Michael Rayner AM and Simon Wright as they consider art and philanthropy in the context of the exhibition.

Dr Georgina Walker is the author of the forthcoming book Private Collectors’ Museum: Public Good Versus Private Gain (Routledge). Her PhD thesis critically examined the changing role of philanthropy in the twenty-first century, investigating the rise of private museums in the past two decades and the impact on public museums.

Michael Rayner AM is one of Queensland’s leading architects and an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at The University of Queensland. Principal of Blight Rayner Architecture, he has designed many of Queensland’s most renowned public buildings, and has won several international design awards.

Simon Wright is the Assistant Director for Learning and Public Engagement at Queensland Art Gallery|Gallery of Modern Art. He has held curatorial and management positions in commercial and public galleries and museums, and has worked as a curatorial consultant for private collectors.
