Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) says
The ASMR QLD Gala Dinner is a major public outreach event held each year to promote political and scientific advocacy on behalf of health and medical research.
The dinner features the presentation of the prestigious ASMR Queensland Health and Medical Research Awards that honour PhD students, early-career researchers and mid-career researchers.

The ASMR 2017 Medallist Professor Richard Wilkinson (Professor Emeritus of Social Epidemiology, University of Nottingham), is a scientist, author and advocate.
Throughout a distinguished career examining the social determinants of health, his research has uncovered that economic inequality is the key driver for numerous health (and social) problems in developed countries such as Australia.
Professor Wilkinson’s presentation, “A healthy society for all” is sure to be thought provoking.

The dinner will be held at Pullman Brisbane – King George Square (The Grand Windsor Ballroom) on Friday the 2nd of June (7:00pm for a 7:30pm start).
See the ASMR website for more information and to book your tickets for the event (https://asmr.org.au/asmr-mrw/queensland/).
