QUT Creative Industries Precinct says
This performance-based masterclass, led by 'Femel_Fissions' artist Tarsh Bates, introduces participants to the science of quantum entanglement and how bodies in spacetime influence each other. Participants will engage in a performance of spacetime entanglement, discuss the relevance of this important scientific theory to art making and design, and assemble a kinetic sculpture that performs spacetime entanglements. In particular, they will be invited to consider the entanglement of bodies that occurs within the human ecology.

This masterclass is running in conjunction with the Exhibition | Femel_Fissions.

Tarsh Bates is an artist researcher interested in how knowledge and experience are created and transferred through the relationships between material, bodies, environment and culture. She completed a Master of Science (Biological Arts) in 2012. Bates is currently completing a PhD (Biological Arts) at SymbioticA, The University of Western Australia, where her current research is concerned with gentleness, the aesthetics of interspecies relationships and the human as a multispecies ecology.
