Saskwatch
Melbourne indie-soul band, Saskwatch, head out on a huge national tour to support their acclaimed third album, Sorry I Let It Come Between Us (Northside Records/Remote Control), stopping by The Triffid on Saturday 12 March.
The new album was recorded over a month-long period at Mt Slippery: an old silversmith warehouse-come-recording-studio on the outskirts of Philadelphia, USA. It’s the studio of Dr Dog’s Scott McMicken and Nathan Sabatino, who together produced the album. Saskwatch have long been big fans of Dr Dog, both musically and as producers, and relished at the chance to head overseas and work alongside them. The result: a raw, solemn and sparse collection of genre-jumping songs.
Fresh off the main support for The Ruben’s big national tour this year and Groovin The Moo festival, Saskwatch smash out their live show—hard, rough and tight. Leading the pack is singer Nkechi Anele, taking audiences from the depths of heartache to overwhelming joy in just one show. This show is not to be missed.
Cub Sport
Brisbane’s favourite indie-pop 4-piece, Cub Sport, will be playing songs from their debut album This Is Our Vice, out March 4, 2016.
