Swedish ‘melodeath metal’ powerhouse Soilwork have just announced they will play The Triffid on Saturday 13 February, 2016, coinciding with the release of their tenth studio album, The Ride Majestic.
The album sees the band pick up where they left off with their last release, The Living Infinite—once again matching brutal instrumentals with over-arching melodies that soar above the aggressive tumult.
Lyrically, though, it sees the band dealing with issues of mortality, as vocalist Björn Strid explains, ‘Just about every member of the band had a death in the family while recording the album … we came up with this title to remember what we’ve gone through together and make it a hymn to those we’ve lost, and celebrate their lives.’
