Learn from the experts at this three-day festival of talks, panels, and storytelling

Storyology and the Walkley Foundation return for another round of frank and in-depth discussions about journalistic innovation and the craft of storytelling.

This year's Brisbane event isn't just for journos and industry-insiders though, it's a great opportunity for all with a keen eye on the media. With a line up that's bound to excite anyone interested in the arts, culture, innovation, politics, new media, press freedom and podcasting, Storyology is your chance to rub shoulders and pick the brains of those in the know.

The 2017 Storyology event kicks off on Thursday August 24 with a live storytelling extravaganza. 'Storyology: After Dark' will see writers and journalists like Trent Dalton, William McInnes, Caro Meldrum-Hanna and more create a magazine live on stage.

Speakers will take over the 'Storyology: for Journalists' event on Friday August 25, including 2016 Gold Walkley winner and Afghanistan-based photojournalist Andrew Quilty, investigative reporter Aaron Glantz (US), head of Google News Lab’s APAC lead Irene Jay Liu (Hong Kong) and more.

The event culminates with Storyology Saturday, a full day of discussions and talks about foreign correspondence, #fakenews and the Trump effect, as well as a local focus on Brisbane’s creative scene and Queensland’s history of crime.
