THE GOOD BEER CO. PRESENTS ‘SOUNDS GOOD’: FEAT. The Belligerents, Good Oak, Deena, Michael David Thomas, DEEDS, & Dj Black Amex

Australia’s first social enterprise beer company, The Good Beer Co, has joined forces with the legendary team at iconic Brisbane music venue The Triffid to give Brisbane live music acts a platform and locals an amazing free event.

Over 300 locals attended the launch of Brisbane based The Good Beer Co’s crowd fund campaign for its first beer – Great Barrier Beer, at The Triffid in November 2015. Former Powderfinger bassist and owner, John Collins (JC), starred in its campaign video and lent his support to the successful campaign.

JC said: “We were really pleased to support such a great initiative to get off the ground by hosting the launch of The Good Beer Co."

“When they got the beer funded and up and running, I asked James if there was anything else I could do to support them. That’s when we came up with Sounds Good – a way for The Triffid and The Good Beer Co to celebrate the musical talent here in Brisbane, give them a platform and some solid support and put on a great free event for our local community.”

Sounds Good will kick off at The Triffid from 6pm on Thursday 24th March. The line up for the free festival of local talent includes DJ’s, acoustic sets and live sets from local bands The Belligerents and Good Oak. It’s expected up to 1,000 people will attend.

The Good Beer Co’s first beer – Great Barrier Beer, will be served at the event. An easy drinking session IPA, it’s brewed by Queensland craft brewers, Bargara Brewing Company, it raises funds for the Australian Marine Conservation Society’s work to protect the reef for future generations.

James Grugeon, Founder of The Good Beer Co said: “Like The Triffid we’re really proud to be Brisbane based and we want to do something good for our local supporters.”

“We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve had from our local community - individuals, companies, pubs, bars and venues like The Triffid. Sounds Good is a way of saying thank you from us, sharing our first good beer and raising funds for an awesome and important cause – the protection of the Great Barrier Reef.”

James Grugeon said he and John Collins planned to make the event would become an annual fixture on the Brisbane music scene. “Sounds Good is all about the great fit that is good beer and good music. With the team at The Triffid’s pedigree and our good beer you’ve got an awesome match that will create a great night out that gives back.”
