Tia Gostelow set the airwaves alight with her debut single “State Of Art” winning Triple J Unearthed High's Indigenous Initiative and placing her as a Triple J Unearthed High finalist. Her second single "Vague Utopia" has already been added to Triple J rotation, garnered rave reviews and proved that 2016 is just the starting block for this young songstress. Tia Gostleow now returns with the announcement of her debut headline tour!

Her 2016 BIGSOUND performance saw the 17-year-old Mackay-based artist impress delegates from around the globe and resulted in a co-management deal with Footstomp Music and Kadence Group. “It's incredibly refreshing to see an artist so young that has already separated herself from the bullshit of celebrity and committed herself to the life of a true artist," said Graham Ashton from Footstomp Music.

"Vague Utopia" sees Tia Gostelow's arresting vocals ebb and flow from gossamer-draped lilts to velvet timbres, which resonate with nostalgic longing. “I tend to develop songs, even happy ones, with minor chords so they can still sound melancholy even if I’m not writing about heartbreak. But most of my work is usually very chilled, so it's perfect for a Sunday afternoon or a road trip, where you can feel comfortable and relaxed and just take the time to listen to the lyrics.” – Tia Gostelow

Lyrically the song draws directly from her current life, reflecting on the feelings of a young woman on cusp of adulthood. “It’s that feeling of “almost” – school’s “almost” over, we’re “almost” adults and “almost” in a world other than school.” Explains Tia.

Continuing her creative relationship with producer Konstantin Kersting from The Belligerents the single was recorded over an intensive week-long session at Airlock Studios in Brisbane and features members of the indie-psych supergroup (The Belligerents) as her studio band.

It's going to be a special summer for Tia Gostelow as she counts down the days until she is free from the constraints of high school, releases her new single and embarks on her first headline tour in February.
