University of Queensland Law Society - UQLS says
15 April 2016 marked the dawn of the end. Screams were heard from the hills of Hamilton to the shore of Hawthorne. Phone lines to Eagle Street ran hot, shredders fired up and Ascot mums shed tears thinking of what they might lose - Moet, the X5, Jose the pool cleaner and all other things that made life worth living.

Until TCB’s dads open their Caicos Island shell companies, our halls will be riddled with poverty. No more can parents afford to send us to Kings and Womens, instead having to commute the 5km from home. Last winter’s Ralph Lauren will be worn again, rather than donated to the local state school. And our BMWs will be downgraded to Volkswagens.

It is clear that the Panama Papers Leak is our generation’s Altamount. Law students’ job prospects are ruined. How will we, the vast network of individuals without the talent or vision to acquire mountainous wealth on their own merits, use our transnational corporate law expertise to assist the top 1% seal the last gaps in their triple-double shell trust-husk-company slush-hedge-funds now?

The best revenge to Mossack Fonseca’s Julian Assange is to live well while we can. The UQLS invites you to borrow Daddy’s credit card one last time to join us for the UQLS Panama Papers Pub Crawl.

Meet us for first drinks at The Fox from 12:30pm on Sunday, 29 May 2016. The crawl will continue into the city and will offer enough drinks to make you forget you’re wearing last season’s chinos.

Tickets will be $29 (+ booking fee) and will be released on 3 May 2016 at 7pm.

This is an 18+ event and only open to UQLS members. Go to signup.fyi/UQLS to join.
