Winning The Gabba Ward: Campaign Introduction And Volunteer Training

Jonathan Sri, Greens for The Gabba says
People of Brisbane! City council elections are barely a month and a half away, and we need all hands on deck. Now is the time for local residents to take back the power to decide what kind of city we want to live in. If you don't know much about local politics or you haven't done much volunteering for the Greens before, this event is for you.

Our Greens campaign for the Gabba Ward is all about changing the tone and structure of local politics. We're asking the people who live in this city what they want their city to look and feel like (how revolutionary!). Fundamentally, this campaign is about recognising that ordinary residents deserve a greater level of control over their own neighbourhoods and communities.

This campaign introduction session is for anyone who is interested in finding out how we intend to do this and to come along and contribute ideas. For residents to claim back the right to the city, we have our own vision for Brisbane - a people’s vision. So come along and help us begin to construct that vision. All welcome!

- Meet Jonno (the candidate), our organisers and fellow volunteers
- Find out how you could help with the campaign
- Hear about our broader strategy and philosophy (and critique it!)
- Learn how to communicate this vision in a compelling and effective way
- Test out your new skills with a group doorknock
