Hip but homely coffee shop that features a rotating list of guest coffees and fresh pastries from popular Hart’s Bakery

Tucked away in Bristol’s beautiful old city, Small St. Espresso is the epitome of cosy. Small, but perfectly formed, it’s the sort of place where the windows steam up while you sit in a window seat sipping your chosen brew. Exposed brick, stripped wooden floorboards and uncovered pipes add to the ‘hipness’ of this coffee shop.

Small St. Espresso opened in 2012 and, along with a handful of others, was at the forefront of the coffee revolution in Bristol. Gone are the days of harsh, dark roasted Italian coffees, instead you will find a choice of artisan blends and single-origin beans to select from, each offering slightly different flavours and aromas.

The guest coffees rotate regularly enough to keep things fresh, and there are a selection of fresh sandwiches, toasties, cakes and pastries to choose from. The bread and pastries are delivered fresh from legendary Hart’s Bakery, while other cakes are locally made by some of the city’s other talented bakers.

Seating is limited, so it’s worth getting there early to guarantee a cosy elevenses, lunch or afternoon treat.
