Whether you’re meeting mates for artisan pizza at Wapping Wharf, getting a dose of contemporary art at Spike Island or blowing away the Sunday cobwebs with a walk on the Downs, you’re never really short of things to do in Bristol. In fact, you’re spoilt for choice. Which is why we’ve done the hard work and rounded up the ‘don’t miss’ events happening this March. Remember: if you revisit this page in early April, you’ll find an all-new selection of events. Enjoy!

Year-round attractions

Go on an intrepid adventure through ancient woodland and spot bears, wolves, lynxes and wolverines back where they belong: in the wild. Bear Wood takes visitors on a time-travelling journey starting in 8000 BC, back when Britain was covered in woodland. Say hi to Pooh and learn more about conservation and ecology.

Bristol Lido

Offering a heated outdoor pool, an elegant spa and a contemporary Spanish cafe and restaurant all in one location, it’s a surprise we ever leave Clifton Lido. Non-members are welcome, so if you’re looking for the perfect blend of health and indulgence book in for a swim, then get well-acquainted with the cafe’s killer Guinness cake.

Tobacco Factory

The centrepiece of Southville, this venue includes an acclaimed theatre, a cosy bar/restaurant serving local craft beers and homely foods, and a warren of studio spaces. Each Sunday it transforms into a bustling food and craft market. It’s so nice, the ex-mayor literally moved in.
