Getting to the golden beaches of the Garden route will be even easier this summer... here's what it'll cost!

Regional airline Cemair has announced it will launch a new summer service between Cape Town and George in December 2024.
Whether you’re jetting off to the Garden Route, or adding Cape Town to your road trip, this new seasonal route is set to make life easier.
Set between the Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, George is the gateway to South Africa's famous Garden Route and a popular starting point for exploring this glorious coastal region of South Africa.
While George itself is an excellent base for discovering the scenic Outeniqua Pass and nearby coastline, it’s also a hit with golf enthusiasts who flock to the region to play world-class courses, including Fancourt and Oubaai. Prefer burgers to birdies? Local markets and farm-to-table restaurants will keep you happy.
From George, it’s also easy to access the scenic Garden Route, from the sinuous rivers of Wilderness nearby to Knysna’s famous lagoon and the ocean safaris and golden beaches of Plettenberg Bay.
And while it’s a charming drive from Cape Town, flying into George will certainly save you time, turning a four-hour (minimum) drive into a flight that takes less than an hour.
Here are the details on Cemair’s new route:
Flights will start from December 1, and continue until January 19, 2025. Fares start from R3659.69 one-way, per person.
There's also a new airline flying direct from Cape Town to Victoria Falls!
