Under chef Eugene Smith, the YARD's humble Margherita is its bestseller. But you're missing out if you don't order the Capricciosa, according to Holmes. “It’s an Italian favourite, and a classic with a hint of expression,” says Smith. “Spicy Italian salami, Kalamata olives, mushrooms and charred broccoli. It’s a well-balanced pizza that is salty and bitter with the right amount of attitude!”
Set inside the buzzing V&A Waterfront, the Time Out Market Cape Town brings together some of the city’s most exciting chefs, bakeries and bars under one roof.
Whether you are visiting for the first time or just not sure what's fresh and new on the menu, local expert Richard Holmes went to do some of the ground work for you.
"With so many traders under one roof, narrowing down what to eat can be half the challenge. Do you go for the dish everyone’s talking about, stick with a proven bestseller, or take a chance on something new?" From standout signatures to crowd-favourite orders, these are the plates to try. You can see the full list here.
