Hold up, you're behind the times over here! Time Out Market Cape Town opened on November 17. Head on over to our dedicated Time Out Market Cape Town page for the low-down on the most delicious new destination in the Mother City!

This week the 13 chefs and their kitchen crews have been hard at work preparing plates and fine-tuning their service for the flood of hungry visitors that are expected over the opening weekend.

Time Out Market Cape Town has found a home in the city’s hugely popular V&A Waterfront precinct, and the project has been more than a year in the planning, with Market teams scouring the city and surrounding Winelands for the best chefs and restaurateurs to offer a memorable snapshot of the city’s food and wine scene under one roof.

And what a roof it is! The Market is housed in the harbour’s original pumphouse and power station buildings, both beautifully restored to blend industrial heritage with contemporary cool. The Market is sandwiched neatly alongside The Watershed design district and overlooking the Alfred Basin, with Instagrammable views of Table Mountain across the harbour.

The fact that the V&A remains a vibrant working harbour adds to the Market’s appeal, allowing you to soak up Cape Town’s rich maritime heritage while you sip and snack on the Mother City’ finest bites. There’s plenty of outdoor seating, so you can soak up the summer sun as you savour the food.

The Time Out Market is a new concept for Cape Town, so we’ve pulled together some useful info to make your Market visit run smoothly.

Check out our FAQs page for all about the where, when and how.

Also remember that Time Out Market Cape Town is a cashless space, and all venues accept most major credit and debit cards. There are no ATMs on site, and cash is not accepted anywhere in the Market. Here’s our handy guide on how to order at Time Out Market Cape Town.
