Siba Mtongana is one of South Africa’s best-loved chefs, whose rise from a humble rural upbringing to an acclaimed chef with a worldwide following is nothing short of remarkable.

Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, she draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of local food culture, sharing her creations with a global audience with the hit cooking show ‘Siba's Table’, where she showcased her signature style of effortless cooking with a modern twist, captivating audiences in more than 135 countries worldwide.

Siba's infectious energy and passion for food have earned her numerous accolades, including five US Film and Television Awards and the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award.

The Siba Deli in Time Out Market Cape Town has fed thousands of hungry diners over the past year through her contemporary take on local cuisine, with a focus on healthy, sustainable dining.

Fans of Siba’s cooking, and those intrigued by her meteoric rise, are in for a treat on Saturday, August 24, when Siba herself will host a once-off afternoon of food, stories and shared experiences.

Hosted in the Time Out Studio, upstairs at the market, from 12 pm – 3 pm, 'What’s Cooking with Siba?' will be a highly personal talk both motivational and entrepreneurial, sharing her personal and professional journey – balancing work, family and motherhood – interspersed with lessons learned along the way.

But Siba is passionate about food, so of course there will be delicious abundance on offer too!

Ticket prices range from R395 – R595 and include a three- or four-course indulgence, with or without wine pairings. On the day the menu includes a braised dish of your choice served with two side dishes from The Siba Deli menu and a decadent dessert. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.
