Time Out says

Over in Spain, the yearly tomato throwing festival is gearing up for another Songkran-style food fight, so it only makes sense that we have something on this side of the world to recognise it – although (sadly, for some) there’s much less throwing and much more eating. Head over to the city’s Spanish-forward Meliá hotel for a night of authentic Spanish specialties, favourites like seafood paella and many classic drinks at this buffet dinner take over of the hotel’s Laan Na Kitchen. Tomato fight, not so much. Tomato feast, absolutely.

August 21. B1,099 per person. Reserve by email laannakitchen@meliachiangmai.com. Meliá Chiang Mai. 6pm-10pm
