1. The booming ‘50s bus in Washaway

Get out of your comfort zone with a stay in this unique Airbnb in Washaway. If you like to think of yourself as quite the adventurer, Betty, a recently converted 1953 Bedford R bus, is up for grabs. Considered a labour of love by host Hannah, Betty is nestled in the back end of the paddock, complete with her own orchard and barbecue space. Equipped with all you could need for (relatively) wild camping, Betty will make sure you feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Just bring your wellies if you’re planning to get some long walks in.

The balcony studio offers 180º degrees of sea and harbour views from the luxurious four-poster bed you’ll have the true pleasure of sleeping in. Other unique features include a wetsuit drying room, a large four-person spa bath (if required) and materials such as tin used to pay homage to the North Cornish mining heritage. The kitchen comes fully equipped with state-of-the-art SMEG appliances and an underground stone wine cellar.

What’s the budget range? On the higher end for a three-night minimum stay, but so worth it for the bathtub and the proximity to the harbour.

3. The romantic treehouse in Penzance

While Cornwall is often thought of as coastal county, many greener areas are well worth exploring. Once an artist’s studio, this treehouse Airbnb in Penzance is a prime example. Designed with two in mind and a surrounding wooden deck overlooking the forest, Country Treehouse is a unique but peaceful stay in the Cornish countryside. Extras include floor-to-ceiling windows, an open-plan living space with a fully equipped kitchen and an ensuite bedroom with a skylight upstairs. Romance is the order of the day here, that’s for sure.

What’s the budget range? A hefty one, but worth it for the remoteness and the views.

5. The earthy home in St Maybn

Toddalong Roundhouse might just be the sweetest earthen home we’ve ever seen. Somewhat reminiscent of a close relative to Hagrid’s home, this earthy Airbnb in St Maybn is everything you need to live out your real-life Harry Potter fantasy. From antique lamps to old books on the shelves, this unique space gives off a vibe that will make you never want to leave. Grab a beverage and put your feet up in front of the cast iron fireplace, before walking up the wooden ladder to your bed(room). Snug is an understatement indeed.

Bored of modern homes and want something memorable? Check out this one-of-a-kind Airbnb in Marhamchurch. After dinner, follow the secret passageways to the bedroom and bathroom shepherd’s huts. Nope, you won’t need to go outside in the middle of the night as the wagons are built into the passageway. Genius to say the least. Needless to say, this is one of the most unique ways to experience the Cornish countryside and we’re here for it.
