The Crown and Harp says
Dallas Observer just announced that it has merged it's Cultural and Music editing positions together. Dallas Morning News is not hiring a Music Editor and has just cut the position of Theater Editors. It is very hard to keep those businesses viable in an age where the Karddashians get all the clicks, even though there is a crazy amount of awesome cultural 'happenings' all over the metromess. How to we rise our voices out of the dull?

Let's have a conversations with some brilliant folks in Dallas who are helping the creative community grow. What do they need from us in a press release? Why do some stories and events get picked up while others don't? How can we be more organized in getting our informaiton out there for our events, album releases, video releases, tour announcments, etc...? How do we better convey the cultural context we are trying to create?

Pete Freedman Arthur Peña Lee Escobedo Drew Chapa Diamond Victoria and Natasha Brito are going to join me in a casual discussion about press releases. I will bring my template that I use. We can ask questions and go over what we need to know to get our stories out there.

We are the scene, let's make it what we want it to be.
