Tuesday Nite Jazz says
Seventy years ago, drummer Ahmad "Benny" Medina lived in a shotgun house directly across Good Street (later called Routh Street) from St. Paul UMC Dallas. The first snare drum he ever heard was when the Booker T. Washington band practiced on the field behind his house. By his early twenties, Benny Medina was playing professionally with saxophone legend and Verve recording artist Sonny Stitt. On November 10, 2015, Benny Medina takes the stage at Tuesday Nite Jazz for the first time as a headliner. Many great talents found their career within the hallowed walls of Booker T. Benny found his from the outside looking in. Join us as the arc of Benny's life takes him back to his beginnings. Across Good Street.

Hale Baskin, featured vocalist.
Colin Campbell, piano.
Quamon Fowler, saxophone.
Mike Luzecky, bass.
Ahmad "Benny" Medina, drums.
