Architecture For Humanity Dfw : 2015 Meeting & Happy Hour

Join us on March 18th for our first meeting of 2015! A lot has changed with us since we last met, so you don’t want to miss it! Plus…it’s almost patio season and The Foundry Bar has a great one and great local beer selection. Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 6:30 social, 7:00 pm meeting Chicken Scratch - The Foundry 2303 Pittman St, Dallas, TX 75208 In light of the AFH bankruptcy, we as a leadership group recently got together to discuss our options as a chapter moving forward; ideas included - teaming up with other local, like-minded design groups; forming our own non-profit, and forming a new regional organization with other AFH chapters. Whatever form it takes, we all agreed that the mission of humanitarian design moves forward. …But, we want to hear from you? What direction do you think we should take? If we are going to form a Dallas non-profit we will need to look realistically at how we can you commit in 2015 and going forward. So, come ready to discuss, meet new friends and old. Let’s serve our great city together! Items to discuss include: 1. Provide an update on the status of Architecture for Humanity post-bankruptcy, what it means for the local chapters going forward. 2. Discuss level of interest, personal and collective going forward. 3. Update on current project, Cigarette Hill. Potential roles to fill would include: 1. Communications/Projects (keep membership updated via social media, notes at meetings, any project-based commitments) 2. Partnerships/membership (reach out to new folks/potential partners, organize meetings) 3. Admin/legal/fundraising (work with a generous accountant member on non-profit status paperwork, organize fundraisers – in the past we have done pub crawls and movie screenings). See you on the 18th!
