John Ankele has studied and practiced in both the Shambhala and Zen Buddhist traditions and has been a teacher of Shambhala Training for the past 12 years. He is based in New York City and is a member of Shambhala Meditation Center of New York. A graduate of Union Theological Seminary and ordained Presbyterian minister, he is a participant in the ongoing conversation between Buddhists, Christians, and Jews. Professionally, John is a documentary filmmaker working in the area of public policy and social ethics. His award-winning documentary THE WISDOM TO SURVIVE: Climate Change, Capitalism & Community screens Saturday, May 9, at White Rock Methodist Church. John's non-profit production company is Old Dog Documentaries. Old Dog is based in New York City and Woodstock, VT.
