On Septmember 22nd, City Council voted in our budget for the fiscal year of 2015-16, which begins on Oct 1st. So happy fiscal New Year everyone! Our resolution? To keep not sucking.
Not that we'll have much help from city government to do so. Approximately 0 of the over 3 billion dollar budget went to Dallas' only live local news source, which is why we had make a Kickstarter just for microphones that actually work. (A big thanks to all who donated!)
But some council members do want to see more money go towards things like the arts and our streets next time around, and one of them, Philip T. Kingston for Dallas City Council District 14, has agreed to join us for a conversation. We'll also have a performance from The Terence Bradford Quartet, and maybe even a rap verse or two. (Hey, gotta make this shit interesting somehow, right?)
