When the Golden Rule and Religious Liberty Collide

10:30 AM -12:30 PM
Saturday, August 15
Cathedral of Hope

Dallas, TX 75235

Freedom of religion is one of our most fundamental rights as Americans. It’s a freedom secured in both the U.S. and Texas constitutions. Under current law, religious liberty is carefully balanced with other important American values, such as fairness and equality. However, there are lawmakers throughout the country who are making blatant and repeated attempts to expand the protections for religious practice to include acts of discrimination. We’ve won marriage equality, but clearly the work toward equality for all Americans is far from over. Join us to discuss how we can make Texas a state that includes everyone.

Keynote speaker: Rebecca Robertson, ACLU of Texas Legal and Policy Director
Panel of discussion: Includes several Dallas leaders including voices of faith, advocates for equality, and local activists.
