Gathering Of Friends In Memory Of Greg Shanks

Join us on Sunday, February 22nd to share memories and reminisce about the times we spent with our friend Greg in church, in school, in life. Pastries, coffee and tea provided. 2pm- 2:30pm - Arrival / Fellowship Pastries from International Bakery Cuban Dulceria Drip Coffee & Iced Tea provided by Generator Coffee (Specialty coffee drinks may be purchased as well) Acoustic Music by Blaine Mitchell of Treeside 2:30pm-4pm - Welcome Address & Words By Friends Blaine will continue to play and there will be a sign-up sheet for those who'd like to say a few words of inspiration or share memories between songs.To start us off, Keith Herod will be reading a message from Tom Pelton, Greg's former youth pastor at Jupiter Road Baptist Church. As Greg was an avid reader, there will also be cards with passages from some of his favorite books for those who would like to participate by reading aloud. 4pm-5pm - Reception Before leaving the event, be sure you stop by the family table to greet the Shanks Family and show them your love and support in this difficult time. Future Events - There will be a Celebration of Life / Benefit Show on 3/21 at the VFW Post 5076 in Garland. Thanks to the various donations to his YouCaring fund*, we are well on the way to having Greg's other final expenses paid in full. In a few months, there will be a ceremony at the cemetery.
