‘Railroad Earth’ is playing in Dallas at The Granada on Friday, January 22, 2016, and we're going to do a book swap.
I don’t normally go out of my way to plug an event unless I really think it’s worth it, I have no skin in the game here, and with that being said, I want to consciously and enthusiastically give this show the full Helping Friendly Bump. This band has thoroughly ‘read the book’ and built a wonderfully uplifting and joyful community around their music. The Secrets to Eternal Joy and Never Ending Splendor ooze outta these guys (To give you a hint how deep this band goes, their name “Railroad Earth” is taken from a Jack Kerouac poem.)
Not only are they lyrically illuminated, they are phenomenal musicians that come together to truly tap into something greater than the sum of all their parts. For those who know what I’m talking about, ‘Railroad Earth’ opens the valve and lets the 'Mind at Large' seep sweet, sweet brain honey into your dome, leaving your neocortex glistening with insightful delight. When ‘Railroad Earth’ peaks the experiences are synonymous with “collective effervescence” and “frothy quantum foam”, and you can just imagine how excited that gets your pinecone. Not only do they pluck your heartstrings, they make you dance your ass off, and that is a hard combination to beat.
It is a rare treat to have RRE come through Dallas and rarer still to have the opportunity to share and celebrate this band with all my Dallas friends. I believe this is the first time they’ve ever played The Granada (our favorite venue) and I would love to make them feel as warm and special as I’m sure you’ll be feeling after the show. I would enjoy nothing more than to share this experience with as many of you as I can. This is one of the places I collect my highest grade mental nectar from, so I’m doing the waggle dance in hopes of directing as many bees as I can to this very fertile patch of nectar on January 22nd, 2016.
I am still working out all the details but was thinking of possibly having a Helping Friendly Book Drive pre-party at The Sundown to support the Helping Friendly Little Free Library and the Helping Friendly Foundation. If we can really get the buzz going perhaps they will even let me bring a Helping Friendly Little Free Library to put on the Merch Table in the Granada and we can exchange books and swap Secrets to Eternal Joy and Never Ending Splendor on a whole other level. Wouldn't that be cool?
Thank you in advance for considering grabbing your friends and making it to this show to rock. You will not be disappointed, in fact you will probably even pick up a SEJNES or two, and you can’t put a price tag on SEJNES.
