Hula Hoop Workshop W/ Sarah Spirals

Passion in Motion is ecstatic to present a three hour hula hoop dance workshop taught by Dallas-Ft Worth's local hoopstress Sarah Spirals. After honing her unique hooping skills in the flow arts community, she has acquired 5 years of workshop leadership experience. Sarah Spirals is now teaming up with Divine Sight to bring together our beautiful community of hoopers and yogis for monthly hoop workshops at the new healing arts center in Dallas! The workshop begins at 1PM, and will consist of three one hour teaching segments with 15 minute cool-down and water break intervals. The first class will be focused on hoop basics, the second will present more intermediate challenges, and the third will be advanced. Whatever your skill level, it's recommended that you attend the workshop in it's entirety, even if the instruction goes beyond or beneath your current skill level. Being present for basics is a great way to warm up, to get familiar with the space and to connect with our community. On the other hand, if you consider yourself a "newbie" staying for the advanced segment may be just the inspiration you've been searching for to break free from your current skill plateau. First Segment- How do you hoop: beginning to find our unique flow while practicing basic weaves, graceful step throughs and transition flows. Second Segment- Helicopters, Vortex Step-Through, Shoulder and Chest Rolls, Lasso, Palm Spins Third Segment- Vertical Shoulder, Duck-Outs, Paddles, Advanced Stall Techniques, Foot Hooping and Hooping Headstands: controlled knee and foot hooping while pushing the acrobatic boundaries. (we worked on this at the last workshops- hopefully, everyone has been practicing their headstands!) :::What to Bring::: water light snack (fruit, granola, etc.) comfortable clothes (yoga gear, tank tops, shorts) hula hoop (if you have one, if you don't, there will be some provided for your use) positive attitude! :::Cost::: $33 for all 3 hours of instruction or $13 for each individual segment Hula Hoops will also be available for purchase: $25 cash or paypal
