RA Gallery Presents - Kelsey Anne Heimerman: TRENDING

Kelsey Anne Heimerman brings her new solo exhibition to the Random Art Gallery, October 24, 2015 at 7 Post Meridiem.

The Dallas artist, by way of Denton, will display a new body
of work that consists of thirteen mammoth sized oil paintings, including two triptychs, and one diptych all on tung wood panel.
A plethora of smaller pieces will accompany the Contemporary Painter's larger works. Compunded into several different series, this colorful collection of work is sure to leave an impactful impression upon the viewer.

The worlds depicted are not physical locations or people, they represent the inner world of American painter Kelsey Anne Heimerman. People cloaked in in contemporary clothing, adorned in patterns that wrap them to define them. Importing specific objects as iconography in modern architecturally based spaces, these worlds gently whisper narratives to the viewer. Issues of overpopulation, contemporary social interaction, alienation and in-distribution of wealth are some of the themes Heimerman touches in the Trending series.

Created in the last 15 months, Heimerman’s process is cyclical. Typically approaching a new painting by drawing directly onto the wood panel. A single painting might sit “finished” accompanied by three or four others in progress and Heimerman will continue to layer onto the piece creating maximalist compositions. Using luscious paint strokes and high contrasting colors the oil paintings demand the viewers attention. These works unveil an emotion that is uniquely human, asking questions to reveal and dissect reality.
