The event creator says
I am coming in from Mexico City for a one evening appearance, Saturday, June 20, 2015, 7:30 PM at TeCo Theatrical Productions, Inc, located at BISHOP ARTS THEATRE CENTER, 215 SOUTH TYLER STREET, DALLAS, TEXAS 75208. This is part of TeCo Theatrical Productions speaker series.

My topic will be GLBT Latino North Texas History in the 80s & 90s.

Topics will begin at DFW’s first LGBT Latino group Gay Hispanic Coalition de Dallas; later Gay & Lesbian Hispanic Coalition de Dallas; Lesbianas Latinas de Dallas the U.S.’s first LGBT Latino radio show Sin Fronteras … and MORE!

But most important is the next phase of LATINA/O LGBT History -- a book titled “Queer Brown Voices” that will be out in August 2015.

I will be doing a reading of my chapter titled "From the Closet to LGBT Radio Host in Dallas.”

“Queer Brown Voices,” … “Essays chronicling the experiences of fourteen Latina/o LGBT activists present a new perspective on the hitherto-marginalized history of their work in the last three decades of the twentieth century.” Stories from Latina/o LGBT activists living in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Puerto Rico

THERE WILL A drawing to win two books from people that sign up for the evening drawing.

The discussion will be facilitated by the ever so lovely Sylvana Avila Alonzo, founder of Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts and Event Coordinator for Dallas Cinco de Mayo.
