Lost Dallas "Dallas Center for Architecture Tour, May 14, 10:00 AM

Join Mark Doty, author of the book Lost Dallas, and DCFA Program Director Greg Brown on a two hour stroll through downtown exploring historic Dallas, both lost and saved. Tour goers will see the Adolphus Hotel and hear what it replaced and the other hotels that used to dominate the neighborhood. On the tour the issue of whether r not we "traded up" in some instances; for example, George Dahl's library replacing the Carnegie Library on the same site, will be discussed. And, unfortunately, there will be a few parking lots on the tour where some of Dallas's best buildings, both large and small, used to stand. The tour will begin at 10:00 am at Main Street Gardens at the corner of Main and St. Paul. Copies of Lost Dallas will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
