Marble Head From A Herm says
C12 presents:
A solo exhibition by Mathew Zefeldt

Marble Head from a Herm centers on the repetition of the titular single subject. The exhibition features over 200 individually hand painted representations of the subject, a Roman copy of a Greek sculpture, along with a wall mural and a floor installation. The floor installation utilizes different tonal values of flooring tiles to function as pixels, creating the same image. Instead of the viewer looking through the traditional painting “window”, they step on the subject as it also surrounds them in each painting. The subject and title of the exhibition, Marble Head from a Herm, is a Roman copy of a Greek Sculpture at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
